The Salone del Mobile.Milano 2023 adopts a different look, with a new general layout of the exhibition, illustrating the possible future evolution of the exhibition of the show with Euroluce.

By emphasizing the quality of proposals and content, the user-friendliness of the experience and the cultural and professional enrichment value of the event itself, the new edition of Salone will play a pivotal role in transformation of the show, continue to generate value for exhibiting companies and visitors.

The 61st edition of Salone del Mobile.Milano – at Rho Fiera Milano from April 18 to 23, 2023 – promises to be rich in novelties and strongly focused on quality. The first thing to highlight is the huge investment in resources and energy for Euroluce (Pavers 9-11 and 13-15). The biennale dedicated to lighting will present a revolutionized exhibition scenography, reworking the concept of proximity inherent in so many Italian historic centers, creating an irregular ring, geometrically polygonal, fluid and free designed by the Lombardini22 studio, designed to optimize the user-friendliness of this great exhibition. This new exhibition format is full of interdisciplinary and experiential cultural content, ranging from architecture to art (exhibitions, conferences, workshops, installations), curated by Beppe Finessi, alongside several young curators as well as special guests such as leading contemporary artists. Formafantasma will play a central role, transforming Euroluce into an ideal city inside the new layout, designing public spaces and special cameos, in a taste of the possible future evolution of the format of the show itself.

Maria Porro, President of Salone del Mobile.Milano, said: “Thanks to teamwork, Euroluce will turn into a great experience for visitors, with the possibility of discovering and touching very high quality products and learn more about themes related to the world of lighting through a high-level cultural offer aimed at buyers, professionals and the entire design community. We like to imagine it as a
dialogue between architecture and design, source of inspiration and enrichment for the visitor. From this point of view, it is interesting that a number of companies specializing in technical products have accepted the challenge of participating in the Salone. This approach has somehow extended from Euroluce to the show as a whole, rethinking the format from an innovative and contemporary perspective and offering adapted and effective solutions and proposals to meet the challenges facing the show landscape. .

After listening carefully to all the exhibiting companies – some of which will return very enthusiastically after a period of absence, and others who will return with the same confidence – the Show is making new support and visibility tools available to through the Salone Digital Platform and related online services. Similarly, extensive research was conducted, involving more than 2,300 field interviews
with visitors from all over the world, to determine how best to improve the show experience and its accessibility. This has triggered a new vision for the next edition of Salone, which will be held on one level at the fairgrounds, a decision that will allow us to optimize the visitor experience.

“Although struggling, the wooden furniture chain is preparing to end 2022 up 12% compared to 2021. Surveys by the FederlegnoArredo Study Center Monitor show that this is also reflected in the results of Furnishing Macro System (with sales equivalent to 4.58 billion euros), which grew by 12.7% in the first nine months of 2022, with Italy recording a growth trend of 14.7% , while exports increased by 11%. The furniture macro system is estimated to end 2022 up 8.1%. These results are very satisfactory for a sector which will also have the opportunity at the next Salone del Mobile di Milano to present itself to emerging markets with a reworked formula shared with the participating companies, which will take shape with Euroluce. An experience that testifies to the vitality of Made in Italy, represented by our companies, and which will be crucial to face what promises to be a very uncertain year 2023,” said the president of FederlegnoArredo, Claudio Feltrin.

Finally, the SaloneSatellite will occupy a new but completely natural location inside the Euroluce pavilions, as it represents the future of design par excellence, and the 2023 edition will devote a particular focus to Schools and Universities of Design with the theme School of Design: Building the impossible. Process, Progress, Practice. By honoring them, SaloneSatellite wants to highlight the unforgettable contribution they have made
and continue to contribute to the training of young designers and the advancement of design.
