A woman has been devastated after her friend announced her pregnancy on social media before she had a chance to tell everyone. The anonymous mother was shocked to see her news splashed across Facebook after telling her friend she was expecting. Speaking to popular forum Reddit, the mum-to-be admitted she was “livid” as her friend shared an image of the baby shower invite along with a congratulatory message.
Expressing her anger in a post, the woman explained, “My friend announced my pregnancy on social media.”
She continued: “I can’t do anything now, I’m livid.
“I am due in April and I have only told my close friends and family about it.
“I’m not a social media girl, I want to be away from random high school/college kids and my friend, who I grew up with, went to high school and college with (as well as my own followers) has posted my invitation to a baby shower with a “congratulations”.
“I just need someone to talk to me off a ledge, I feel like she stole all my joy, random people are texting me congratulations and I haven’t told them said. I’m so hurt and so P *****.”
Reddit was quick to sympathize with the mother-to-be, reports the Mirror.
One person wrote: “I just don’t understand people posting invitations to events on social media. It’s rude to hosts, it’s rude to people who haven’t been invited, and in this case, it’s rude to the guest of honor.
“I’m sorry OP. I would ask him to take it down,” they added.
