Last December, ten startups were chosen to join the Swiss National Startup Team as Venture Leaders Mobile 2023. The entrepreneurs behind the connectivity startups got to know each other and introduced themselves to the audience during a pitching session virtual last week. The event also kicked off the roadshow, which will take them to startup 4YFN at the heart of Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona in February.
The week-long Venture Leaders Mobile roadshow aims to showcase Switzerland’s most innovative mobile startups to international investors and telecom industry leaders, making it a unique opportunity for companies to expand their international presence. An expert jury of professional investors and mobile technology experts reviewed 90 applications to choose the 10 Mobile Venture Leaders 2023. The chosen startups offer innovative solutions that advance areas such as cybersecurity, digital health , moving components, etc.
At the launch event at the Schlieren startup space, the entrepreneurs behind the best Swiss-based connectivity startups met their teammates and presented their innovations to a virtual audience. Manuel Anschwanden, CEO of NextLens, was voted team captain by the public.
Mobile World Congress is the world’s largest and most important event for the mobile industry – an ideal platform to accelerate the global growth of Venture Leaders and connect founders with industry leaders. Their presence at the 4YFN startup event will help Swiss startups facilitate meetings with potential customers, investors and experts.
“The 2023 edition of 4YFN and MWC promises to be an incredible iteration with more attendees expected than in the pre-pandemic era. With our extended presence at 4YFN, I expect it to be an incredible week for this team,” said Jordi Montserrat, Partner Director at Venturelab. “The ten new members of the Swiss National Startup Team are once again of incredible quality, displaying some of the best innovation present in Switzerland with early-stage startups. We are very much looking forward to propelling these companies and their exceptional technologies in the world market organize.”
Three VISCHER experts – Rolf auf der Maur, Gian-Andrea Caprez and Pauline Pfirter – joined the Venture Leaders at the launch event to present to the group the key aspects of termsheet agreements with international investors as well as collaborations of the industry. VISCHER is also powering the fourth Venturelab Trophy, a sailing match race connecting startups and investors in a unique setting at the Royal Nautico Club in Barcelona.
Venture Leaders Mobile is organized by Venturelab with support from Huawei, Swisscom and VISCHER.
