KUTTAWA, KY – Maintenance and repair work at intersections along Interstate 24 will cause various restrictions between the 34 and 55 mile markers in Lyon County, starting Jan. 25.
In a statement released Tuesday, the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says the Lyon County Highway Maintenance Crew will work at midpoint crossings, hoping to provide safer and faster access for vehicles from emergency response.
KYTC says work zone restrictions will extend between Lyon and Caldwell counties, between the I-24 Cumberland River Bridge and the Cadiz-Princeton KY 139 interchange at exit 56.
All traffic will be moved to the right lane at each construction site, the statement said.
Crews will work between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. weekdays — weather permitting — for the next two weeks.
According to the release, the work area is expected to be about a mile long and will occasionally change location.
The firm encourages drivers to remain cautious and to remain alert to flaggers, maintenance personnel and equipment in this area.
In addition, the police presence can be reinforced in the work zones.
