PHILADELPHIA CREAM – With less than a month to go until the 2023 season begins, Inside Lacrosse released its pre-season media poll on Monday afternoon with the University of Pennsylvania men’s lacrosse team registering 10th overall with 293 points. .

The Quakers went 11-5 in 2022 before entering the Ivy League tournament as the four seeds, knocking out first-seeded Brown and third-seeded Yale to win the title. Ivy tournament in Providence.

Penn beat Richmond, 11-10 in NCAA first-round overtime to advance to the quarterfinals, where the Rouge et Bleu fell to Rutgers, 11-9.

The Ivy League is well represented in the IL Media Poll with four teams in the Top 10. 2022 National Finalist Cornell is ranked No. 4 with Princeton (#6), Yale (#7) and Penn (# 10) falling under this Category.

Eight of Penn’s 12 opponents for the 2023 season are ranked in the top 20 including #3 Georgetown, #8 Duke and #15 Saint Joseph’s.

The #10/9 Quakers open the campaign Feb. 18 against the #3 Hoyas in Washington, DC, beginning at noon.
